OCP at Council
Staff brought forward the draft OCP and related policies and bylaws to Council in a series of presentations between February and April of this year, followed by a public hearing in September to gather additional community input. Draft Official Community Plan and proposed regulatory directions were presented to Council.
March 6
Presentations continued, questions were asked and answered and changes were proposed.
April 3
Council considered a series of changes to the proposed directions based on reports directed at the March 6 meeting and voted to move the process forward.
April 17
The decision to move the process forward was ratified by Council.
July 24
Council moved the process forward to a public hearing scheduled for September 11, 2025.
September 4
Council approved the next steps to advance the relevant bylaws and policies for consideration of their final adoption with updated OCP following the public hearing.
Council held the first session of the public hearing to receive input on the proposed bylaws and OCP amendments.
Council continued the public hearing, gathering additional feedback from community members by phone and in person.
Council continued the public hearing with pre-recorded video submissions and asked staff questions. The public hearing will reconvene on October 2, 2025 at 6:30 p.m.
Council concluded the public hearing and adopted the new Official Community Plan, zoning bylaw amendments, as well as the other bylaws and policies included as part of the OCP update.
